Brick Lane Music Hall is a former button factory dating back to Shakespeare's time that has been recreated into a charming old Victorian music hall. It hosts special events such as the Camberwell Pocket Opera and a Christmas Panto and Aladdin and His Magical Lamp. It's got more glitter and glitz than most, reflecting the upbeat personality of the host, Vincent Hayes. An evening at Brick Lane Music Hall starts with a three-course dinner served by candlelight in the theatre followed by the show. There are also matinee performances by entertainers like Danny La Rue that includes a cream tea.
Dinner & Show about £30 ($45) or so, and matinee performances at £19.50 ($28) per head including tea, cream cakes and sandwiches and a chance to meet him afterwards. Nearest underground: Old Street and Liverpool Street. The box office is open Tuesday through Friday 10:00 to 18:00.
