Delve into the wonders of natural history at this NYC cultural attraction. Since the museum opened in 1869, visitors have been flooding its exhibit halls and studying the amazing displays, which include an impressive collection of dinosaur fossils.
The AMNH boasts 42 different exhibit halls, complete with dinosaurs, fossils, preserved remains from long extinct mammals, flora and fauna studies, and more. In addition, the museum offers state-of-the-art visual presentations, computer screens, and interactive displays. Visitors will be astounded by the maze of exhibits on rare gems, meteorites, and other such archeological discoveries.
Take in a film at the IMAX Theater and view nature-related films on a larger-than-life 40x66 foot screen that stretches out overhead and gives the perception of sitting right in the middle of the action. Another highlight is the Hayden Planetarium, which has under gone a massive upgrade and is now part of the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The center offers tremendous insight not only about our planet, but what lies beyond. Space show and IMAX films are an additional fee.
